The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Deborah P. Lindenberg as its next Executive Director.  

"Debbi's impressive credentials and background are an excellent fit for us," said John Fruehwirth, Capital for Children Board Chair.  "She comes to CFC following an extensive career in both law and philanthropy and brings substantial experience in grantmaking and building relationships in the local nonprofit community."

Each September, ACG National Capital and its membership welcome the slight decrease in temperature and increasingly mild weather with their Annual Golf Event. The event brings together chapter members, leadership and sponsors for a day of sport, networking, fun and charity.  The charity that benefits from this event – and has benefited from it for the past four years – is called Capital for Children. And it plays a very important and essential role in the National Capital region and community.

Capital for Children partners and invests in nonprofit organizations across the region that work to make the lives and futures of the area’s youth brighter. Nine years ago, Ken Doyle, a senior partner at the Halifax Group private equity firm, and others from the private equity community in the Washington, D.C., area started the Capital for Children charitable organization. Their idea: To take the same approach with charitable giving as they did with private equity investing.

"PE-supported Youth Charity Capital for Children Awards Over $147K to Nine Nonprofits"
Washington, DC-based local youth development charity Capital for Children, which is supported by the private equity community, has just awarded $147,500 in new grants to nine nonprofits in the area. Among the recipients are The Literacy Lab and Horizons Greater Washington, both of which received $20,000 each. Since its founding in 2007, Capital for Children has donated $1 million to 12 nonprofits. Ken Doyle, senior partner at The Halifax Group, is the president of Capital for Children.

Capital for Children Awards Nine Grants to DC Youth Development Organizations

Capital for Children, a local youth development charitable organization supported by the private equity community, announced today it has awarded $147,500 in new grant awards to nine nonprofit youth development organizations in Washington, DC. With these new grants, Capital for Children’s lifetime giving surpasses $1,000,000 as the organization prepares to celebrate its 10th Anniversary.

For the first time, the proceeds from the annual ACG Golf Event will be donated to Capital for Children.  The ACG Golf Event is an annual golf tournament that ACG National Capital organizes. The event took place at the Hidden Creek Country Club on Monday, September 30, 2013.
